Celebrate Independence Day on Hilton Head Island

Hilton Head rentalsHilton Head Island is the perfect place to celebrate our country’s birthday! We offer several different fireworks displays, as well as a fun parade to get everyone in a patriotic state of mind.

Kick off your day with the Annual 4th of July Parade which starts at 9:30 a.m. in Harbour Town at Sea Pines Plantation. You can even participate if you want! Meet at 8:30 a.m. under the lighthouse to register and get supplies for decorating your Hilton Head bike rentals, wagon, kids or pets! Then, get ready to march through Harbour Town and afterward enjoy carnival games, activities and more.

If you’re staying at Harbour Town, kids’ entertainer Gregg Russell will perform at 8 p.m. under the Liberty Oak. Fireworks start at 9 p.m. at Harbour Town where you can watch the sky light up over Calibogue Sound.

Another place to watch fireworks is Skull Creek. There the fireworks are launched from a boat in the Intracoastal Waterway around 9:30 p.m. Hudson’s Seafood House on the Docks, the Chart House or Skull Creek Boathouse are all great places to enjoy dinner, have a drink and watch the fireworks. All three will have live entertainment starting at 6 p.m.

The largest fireworks display on the island is at Shelter Cove Harbour as part of HarbourFest. Shannon Tanner, known for his family-friendly tunes, will perform at both 6:30 and 8 p.m. that evening and include some additional patriotic music. Fireworks take off over Broad Creek at dusk.

Parking can be a problem around the Shelter Cove Harbour celebration, so this year organizers have added three free and secure parking lots where attendees will be directed. There will be a free shuttle running from 4:30-11 p.m. going back and forth to Shelter Cove from the lots.

Where ever you choose to celebrate July 4th, be safe and have a great time!
