Combine Delicious Food and Beautiful Art at Bluffton Festival

Bluffton FestivalIf you’ll be visiting us mid October, you’ll want to be sure to take in a popular annual festival in the Lowcountry: the Historic Bluffton Arts & Seafood Festival. It combines the best of Lowcountry food and art into one great fall event. This year, it will be held October 13-20.

Head down to the historic district of Bluffton, just over the bridge from Hilton Head, known for its eclectic art community and beautiful river views for all the fun. While there are lots of events throughout the event, the highlight is Streetfest on Oct. 19 and 20. More than 100 artists will display and sell their works, there will be abundant food vendors for sampling a variety of cuisine and live music and entertainment will run throughout the event.

Other events throughout the week include the kickoff on October 13 with live music, a boat parade, Blessing of the Fleet and Oyster Fest, which will be the first oyster roast of the season. Sip wine at a wine tasting at Corks Wine Company the evening of October 17, and bring the family out for Family Night at the Promenade October 18 from 6-9 p.m.

For outdoor lovers, try a kayak, paddle board or boat tour of the May River, which run all week, and take in the Paddling Parade at the Bluffton Oyster Company from 2-4 p.m. on October 18. A 10K Road Race and 5K Fun Run will also take place October 19 at 8 a.m. at Bluffton Oyster Factory Park. See a complete list of events.

Be sure to eat your fill and take home a souvenir of Lowcountry art! You are on vacation, after all!
