Hilton Head Golf Course Profile: Old South Golf Links

hilton head vacation rentalsLocated just across the bridge from Hilton Head Island in Bluffton, Old South Golf Links is a popular Hilton Head golf course with locals. It offers quintessential Lowcountry views with large sweeping oaks, marshes and views of the Intracoastal waterway of McKay’s Creek.

Designed by Clyde Johnston and built in 1991, Old South is a par 72, 18-hole golf course, which Golf Digest named a Top 10 New Public Course for 1992. It’s also been named a favorite public golf course by the readers of Hilton Head Monthly year after year, as well as the 2011 Lowcountry Golf Course of the Year.

The course is certified in environmental planning as part of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program, and you can expect to see abundant wildlife like wood storks, hawks and deer.

Old South also has a driving range and putting green as well as on-site PGA-certified golf professionals for instruction. Golf schools are available daily, as well as private lessons or playing lessons.

Clubs are available for rent if needed and the on-site restaurant is open daily from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Dine in the enclosed dining room, screened porch or take your meal with you on the course! Specialties include breakfast and burgers.

Sunset Rentals offers plenty of golf vacation packages that include both tee times at local courses, including Old South, and accommodations. Visit our Hilton Head golf packages page for more information or give us a call at 800-276-8991.
