One of the most popular events on Hilton Head Island every year is Wingfest. Maybe it’s the combination of delicious food and gorgeous spring weather that make this event such a hit. It’s even been declared the island’s largest one-day event! So if you’re planning to visit Hilton Head this spring, consider visiting during Wingfest, March 22 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

Now in its 19th year, Wingfest is held at Shelter Cove Community Park and offers wings, wings and more wings! Local Hilton Head restaurants, along with independent groups like firemen and hotels, cook up some of their best wings for event-goers to sample.

Admission to the event is $6 with children 10 and younger entering for free. Tickets are sold in batches of $10, with each dollar good for sampling one wing. All proceeds benefit the Hilton Head Island Rec Children’s Scholarship Fund.

While you’re gobbling up wings, pop a squat and enjoy live music from local bands, including Lyn Avenue, Deas Guyz and Jacob & The Good People. They will perform starting at 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Event organizers encourage you to bring your own lawn chairs.

Wingfest also has a tailgate party the night before from 5-8 p.m. at the park. Music will be provided by The OCD Band with a special appearance by Sara Burns.

We hope you join us to try out this annual Hilton Head favorite! For more information about Hilton Head accommodations, visit www.sunsetrentals.com.
