7 Activities for Kids on Hilton Head Island

Hilton Head activities for kidsHilton Head Island is a playground for kids come summertime. With endless options for water play, bikes, playgrounds, museums and more, there’s no shortage of summertime fun on Hilton Head. Here are our picks for 7 activities for kids on Hilton Head Island.

1)      Explore the ocean – With miles of Atlantic Ocean beach on Hilton Head Island, you’ve got plenty of room to spread out and enjoy the deep blue sea. Try skimboarding, surfing, snorkeling or just plain swimming and splashing in the surf! The ocean can entertain even the youngest of kids (with adult supervision of course and plenty of sunscreen!) all day long.

2)      Ride a bike – Bring your bike along on your Hilton Head vacation or rent one as part of your Hilton Head vacation package with Sunset Rentals. Then, explore the more than 50 miles of paved bike paths winding through creeks, palm trees, live oak trees and pines for a beautiful and healthy excursion.

3)      Go fish – Fishing is a wonderful activity for families that all ages can participate in. Rent a rod and reel or join a Hilton Head fishing charter to find the best spots to reel in a big one! Kids will love sharing the pictures of their catch with all their friends.

4)      Try kayaking – Another activity good for all ages is kayaking. Pair a younger child in a double kayak with an adult. Older kids and teens can paddle their own. Hop in one of our many creeks or lagoons and enjoy a peaceful paddle. Keep your eye out for wildlife!

5)      Ziplining – A recent addition to activities on Hilton Head Island is ziplining. Zipline over Broad Creek for a bird’s eye view of our pristine island.

6)      Play golf – Expose kids to the great game of golf with so many courses to choose from on the island. Many resorts and courses offer lessons for children and junior tees to make the game more enjoyable for the young – and young at heart J. View our Hilton Head golf vacation packages.

7)      Serve it up – Hilton Head Island is also awash in tennis facilities, junior lessons and junior tournaments and round robins. Get your kids out on the court to work on their serve or just learn the basics to develop their “love” for the game of tennis.
