Where to Launch Your Boat on Hilton Head Island

Hilton Head boat rentalsBringing your boat with you on your visit to Hilton Head Island? You’ll want to know the best places to launch it. Hilton Head offer several area options including launches on the island and at nearby locations like Bluffton and Pinckney Island.

If you’re looking for the best spot on the island, your choices include the Broad Creek Boat Ramp under the Charles Fraser Bridge at 68 Helmsman Way mid island, which has deep water access where you can launch during any tide. Another option is the Marshland Road Boat Ramp closer to the eastern side of Broad Creek just before the Old Oyster Factory located at 97 Marshland Road. This launch is best during high tide as it provides shallow water access ideal for small boats and kayaks or canoes.

The Hilton Head Island Visitors Bureau also lists Old House Creek Landing, 55 Sam Frasier Retreat and Outdoor Resort Marina along Jenkins Road as other alternatives.

Over at Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge, you can launch your boat into MacKay Creek at the public boat ramp located between the two bridges as you drive onto the island.

In nearby Bluffton, there are even more options, which include:

  • Alljoy Landing, County Road 13
  • Bluffton Oyster Factory, 63 Wharf Street
  •  Bluffton Public Dock, 113 Calhoun St
  • Buckingham Landing, 55 Ford Island Rd
  • CC Haigh Jr Landing, 1640 Fording Island Rd
  • HE Trask Landing, 325 Sawmill Creek Rd

Whether you’re cruising for pleasure, fishing or kayaking, you’ll find a variety of possibilities for launching your boat on Hilton Head Island.
