5 Reasons to Ride a Bike on Hilton Head Island

Hilton Head bike rentalsWhen you visit Hilton Head Island, you’ll likely see hoards of people on their bikes. Why, you ask? There’s lots of reasons to ride your bike on Hilton Head and here are our top 5:

  1. There’s never a bad time – Aside from the occasional rainy day, there’s rarely a time of year that isn’t great for riding a bike. With average highs in the 60s even in winter, it’s still perfect bike-riding weather.
  2. Plenty to explore – Hilton Head Island has 50 miles of paved bike paths to take you almost anywhere on the island and we’re even a designated bike-friendly community! You’ll never run out of places to explore on the island especially as you pass beautiful marshes, inlets, palm trees, oak trees, blooming azaleas and more.
  3. It’s better than a car – It’s WAY better than a car. When things get busy around the island, you’ll be glad you’re not stuck in traffic in a car, but rather cruising by everyone else on your bike! Plus, you can pull right up to your favorite restaurant — no searching for a parking space!
  4. See nature up close – Get out from behind the car window and see nature unfiltered. Breathe in the fresh air, smell the fragrant salt marsh and watch the lovely blue heron as he fishes in the water.
  5. It’s great exercise – Why not burn calories as you get around the island? That way you can burn off by day all that yummy seafood you’ll be eating for dinner every night! Plus, all ages can do it. Even little ones can ride in a bike seat, tag-a-long or kiddie cart.
