Pedal to Hilton Head Restaurants During Bike & Dine Week

Hilton Head bike rentalsMay is National Bicycling Month and Hilton Head Island celebrates every year with a special event to encourage bike riding. Hilton Head Island, which is a Silver Level Bike Friendly Community, has more than 50 miles of paved bike paths — and 100 miles of paths total — to help residents and visitors alike explore its offerings all on two wheels.

The Hilton Head Island-Bluffton Chamber of Commerce hosts a yearly event to not only promote the benefits of riding a bike, but also encourage everyone to get out and try a new Hilton Head restaurant. Chamber Bike & Dine Week, which this year will be held May 2-9, gives special discounts to those who bike to local restaurants.

For example, when you show up on two wheels, you might score a free drink, free appetizer or a percentage or dollar amount off of your meal. Participating restaurants include Captain Woody’s, Frankie Bones, Jump & Phil’s, Mellow Mushroom, Ruby Lee’s and more. View the complete participating restaurant list.

In addition to the special offers, there will also be a variety of get-togethers and meet-ups at local coffee shops and lunch spots. On May 3 at 10 a.m., there will Bike & Dine History Tour leaving from Ruby Lee’s, and on May 8 at 5:30 p.m., there will be a Bikes, Brews & Bites ride from Captain Woody’s stopping at a variety of restaurants to enjoy their Happy Hour.
