Designed by Jack Nicklaus, the par-72, 18-hole course is simply stunning with its ancient live oaks, palm trees and beautiful river views.
In 2005, this Hilton Head golf course was named the Best New Course by the South Carolina Course Ratings Panel. The course has a number of unique features, including fairways made of eco-friendly turf and sand from Ohio for its bunkers selected because it adheres better to sloped surfaces and holds up to coastal weather.
Golfers will find strategic bunkers and natural waste areas, Champions Bermuda greens guarded by white-sand bunkers, and gently undulating slopes to challenge their putting. Before beginning, head to the practice facility with tee boxes, target greens with bunkers and a 5-acre short game area or schedule an appointment for a lesson with a certified PGA pro.
Before or after your round, enjoy a meal at the grill within the May River Clubhouse with views of the 9th and 18th greens. Then venture to the golf shop, which offers a large selection of golf apparel and equipment. There are also amenities like 40-day lockers, showers, shoe care and golf club repair.
